Problem Solving Dealing with the Unexpected

However rigorously a Yacht Building plan is prepared, when it is implemented, there are bound to be problems.  What is important is to be able to identify them quickly and take the appropriate action.

Any successful Yacht Building project needs to have a problem solving capability.  Faced with results deviating from what was planned, the project manager needs to be able to establish the facts to provide a sound basis for formulating an appropriate response.  The available options need to be identified and evaluated quickly enough to enable a timely decision to be made.  Thought needs to be given as to whether sufficient expertise resides in house to deal with the issue or whether external support is required.   Finally, the corrective action that has been identified needs to be implemented effectively
